We love life and believe that living each day to the fullest is what it is all about. These days, most of us are very busy and many forget to have fun! We want you to use us as a resource. We have access to all things travel-related, so whether you’re looking for exciting places to eat, a bucket list add-on, or ideas for a getaway, we have you covered!
Hello, my name is Tomeka. I started Short Weeks – Long Weekends out of my love for travel and the pure joy of meeting interesting people along the way. There is a warm and fuzzy feeling that overcomes me each time I go somewhere new that is hard to explain in only words. That is when the idea of blogging was born. My initial goal here was just to share experiences with any and every person that I can through articles, stories, and photos.
That recently evolved into helping people book their travel. Of course, if you are the person who loves to manage travel plans and coordinate, you probably don’t need me. However, if you are someone who doesn’t want to spend countless hours researching flights, deals, etc. I’m here for you! I will not only book your travel, but I will also make sure you have an itinerary and guide before departure.

You may guess from the title of the blog that Short Weeks – Long Weekends specializes in quick getaways that are usually four to five days or less. Because I am a mom with a full-time gig outside of travel, I make every attempt to ensure the focus remains on the shorter, budget-friendly trips. I am a firm believer, whether it is a day trip to a nearby town or a weekend in the Caribbean, everyone can fit travel into their budget.
Sorry…you will not find any articles here about backpacking for a month in Europe. Long weekend travel articles are what we do best, along with reviews, guides, and stories.
Since the launch of the blog, readership has jumped, and contributors have come on board to provide more content than I could produce on my own. I’m so excited that my original idea has grown into more than a hobby! Even though I was born, raised, and live in Tennessee, all of Short Weeks – Long Weekends’ contributors live across the United States, with thousands of miles traveled around the world.
