Several people grill year-round, however summer is the season when most people get together and grill. Summer holidays, family reunions or friends simply getting together for a good old fashion cookout all increase the risk for potential burns. Remember do not put water on grease fires. Flour may help contain the fire until someone grabs the fire extinguisher. I know that you may have been told to put butter on a burn but that will only make matters worse. Run cold water over the area and apply an ice pack. Make sure you go to the emergency room, if the burn covers an entire body part (arm, back, neck etc.) or if blistering occurs. If the you or the person burned is having difficulty breathing call 911 immediately. Do not attempt to drive them to the emergency room because they may need to have their airway secured.
