Topgolf: Nashville’s New Hot Spot

In September, Topgolf opened the doors to its 34th location in Nashville, Tennessee. A city known for country music, Nashville has slowly become a sports town. If you want proof of that, just look at how the city came together to cheer on their Nashville Predators during the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs. In addition to the Predators, two more professional sports teams, the Tennessee Titans and the Nashville Sounds, a minor league baseball team call Nashville home. The addition of Topgolf to the city gives it the first sports/entertainment venue that blends all things Nashville (sports, music and entertainment) in one place.

Whether you are a golfer or not, Topgolf Nashville has something for everyone, especially those who enjoy sports or lighthearted competition. It is a welcomed alternative to other entertainment options in the city and the only one of its kind. Along with interactive golfing, the venue has a full service restaurant and bar, sundeck, private event spaces, plus Topgolf’s first live music venue.

Play

The one thing that everyone should try out when they visit Topgolf is play. It is a modern day playground. Who cares if you can golf or not, go have some fun! The atmosphere is laid back with 102 climate controlled hitting bays, big screen TVs, top-shelf drinks and a food menu that is above and beyond the average sports bar.

The airy sports venue has three-levels and covers 65,000 square feet. In other words, this place is huge. The best way to describe it is sports bar meets golf course meets arcade. All bays, which are rented by the hour, contain electronic scoring via micro chipped balls. Each bay hold up to six players, which makes the experience more affordable for groups to split the cost. They are open facing the 215-yard tee-line and are exposed to the elements, but individual climate controls keep guest comfortable year-round.

The bays contain golf clubs, for those who don’t bring their own, including options for children and left handed players. Each player is given instant feedback after hitting their golf ball toward over-sized targets based on where it lands on the driving range. It goes without saying that the farther the golf ball goes, the more points the player will earn. Scores of each player including the accuracy and distance of their shots appear instantly on the TV monitor located in the bay.

It is important to note that there are no reservations permitted for bays. They are all rented on a first come, first served basis.

Eat + Drink

Even though bays only allow six players at a time, the space can accommodate up to 12 guests. This allows for non-players to feel welcome and socialize with their friends who are playing. There is a bay host assigned to each bay who is responsible for serving food and drinks. In addition to table service at the bays, Topgolf has a full bar and restaurant. Drink options have everything from local draft beer to cocktails like the Lynchburg Select Lemonade made with Jack Daniel’s single barrel select. The food menu offerings include the usual bar food like wings, nachos along with more filling options like burgers and flatbreads.

On top of having a full bar and restaurant, Topgolf also provides free Wi-Fi and is a live music event venue. With big screen TV’s located throughout the building, it is a great location to gather and watch televised sporting events. The sundeck is one more option for visitors to hang out,  relax and enjoy the beautiful Nashville skyline. It has fire pits for the cooler days and umbrellas for the hot ones so it can be enjoyed year-round as well. As with all other areas, there is a full bar to order from while you are enjoying the sundeck.

If you are looking for a fun day or night out in Nashville, do not overlook Topgolf.

  1. Nashville’s Topgolf sounds like a lot of fun. I have friends who’ve been to a similar type venue in other cities and really enjoyed it, but I have yet to do something like this.

  2. What a blast! We have a Top Golf near our town too. It’s so much fun. I haven’t actually gone into the bar or restaurant, so thanks for reminding me that it’s an option.

  3. I had heard of TopGolf but was not sure what it was. I am not a golfer, but it still sounds like an interesting place to visit. Flatbread pizzas are one of my favorites. Have you tried them?
