What We Are Looking For… We seek original writing and photography that speaks to adventure seekers, foodies, and lovers of life. Familiarity with our site is needed to have an idea of what we like to publish. Use the search function to review existing content to avoid similar stories we have already published. We are always seeking submissions for the following: Food & Wine, Historic Places, Museums, Weekend Getaways, Travel Tips and Round-ups.
Query Submissions… Include a brief description of your idea, proposed story length and expected date of submission. You will also need to include a short bio, social media handles and a link or two to some of your previous work. If you are a new writer, please provide a writing sample in lieu of previous works.
Length… Pieces should range from 500 to 800 words for shorter roundup articles to a max of 2500 for a feature piece.
At this time, Short Weeks – Long Weekends will not pay for freelance submissions. Each published article will have the photo and bio of the contributor. Freelancers can link back to their work for reference on the site.
